Sleepie Newbie- Baby J | Cumming Newborn Photographer

Posted on January 26, 2009

What a blessed family…  they have been clients of mine for several years now and recently added a new addition to their family.  Sweet Baby J.  He was so peaceful and calm for me, which according to mom is how he has been the whole time.  I would definitely believe that too.  I, as most mothers can, see personalities right away with these new babies.  It is amazing that they can express their little selves so early.  Baby J joins a very sweet big sister and an adorable big brother.  And while life with three is crazy (I totally get that B & C!) it is wonderful!  So here a few of Baby J to share. He was so patient with me and all the chaos around him.  Gotta love it when the third is this laid back, a true blessing for the parents.  :)

Let the Sun shine! | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Posted on January 25, 2009

I was so happy to see the clouds parting and the sun peeking through around noon today.  I got to meet the sweetest little newborn today and she (like the day ended up being) was perfect.  She slept like a little champ for me.  We had the best time with her.  Mom and Dad are quite smitten with their new little bundle of joy who arrived in the world a mere 10 days ago.  I was so excited to see these images when I got home and they did not disappoint.  I had a very hard time picking just a few to share with you, so maybe when I have proofed the whole session I will share a few more.  But for now meet Baby E!  Thank you S and C for sharing your sweet little bundle with me.

2008 Atlanta Newborns

Posted on December 27, 2008

The year is winding down and I am preparing for some changes.  So I thought I would take some time to reflect on clients of 2008 before the unveiling of the new AGR Photography begins.  I started going through all of my folders and was starting to get overwhelmed with my favorites.  I had so many that jumped out at me that I decided to break it down a bit.  So I am sure you can guess where I went first… yep Newborns.  They are one of my favorite subjects for sure.  I was so blessed to meet so many newborns this year.  So many wonderful families starting their lives with new little people.  So this afternoon I went through those images remembered all of those wonderful sessions, sweet babies, and exhausted yet joyful parents.  The miracle of life truly is such a blessing.  Thank you to all my clients who have shared their little miracles.  Just click the link below to see the show and check back over the next few days to see more of my favorites clients of 2008.

One more newborn for the month…

Posted on August 20, 2008

Meet Baby Lacy!  She made her debut a bit early (3 weeks) so I thought that my last August newborn (which would make 7 or 8 if you count the twins) would be later in the month but no Miss Lacy had other plans.  She was so tiny, still under 6 lbs when we met.  And since she was a breech baby she was super bendy.  She just curled right up and slept through it all.  I had the best time with her.  She is so petite and delicate… she suits her name just perfectly.

I just love this shot of the three of them.

This gives new meaning to the word… tiny.

And at the end after her belly was full we saw some eyes.  I loved watching her look around the room.

Thank you to the M family for choosing me as your photographer.  I loved every minute!

More newbies… this time x 2!

Posted on August 18, 2008

Two sweet little boys… but can I just say photographing twins is challenging.  I would no sooner get one to sleep then the other one would wake up or better yet, kick his brother and wake him up.  LOL!  But with any challenge the rewards of getting it right are even sweeter.  I had the best time working with these two and mom and dad are just awesome.  I took my friend Julie with me to be my extra pair of hands and I am so thankful I did.  Having her there allowed mom to sit and observe which I think she appreciated.  Thank you mom and dad for letting us stay so long.   I think you will agree it was well worth it.

But this shot below is like hitting the jackpot to me.  We worked so hard to get this shot.
I literally got one shot before baby boy on the right woke up and I LOVE it!
Don’t they look so peaceful here together?

Finishing up my sneak peeks…

Posted on August 16, 2008

from a week ago.  My marathon week of newbies.

Last weekend was not only the weekend of boys it was the weekend of boys with tons of hair.  This little guy had the BEST hair.  Thick and dark with tips that looked like they had been highlighted red.  So interesting and so very cool.  He is a very special little man born to an amazing couple.  A couple I think very highly of.  You can see their maternity session here. This sweet litte guy is the 8th… yes you read that right… 8th first born son with the name John.  I thought that was so neat.  I am all about family names and this name is like the king of family names.  :)

Mom and Dad (and grandmother) kept telling me I had my work cut out for myself because Baby J did not sleep alot, but he proved them all wrong.  He was amazing for me.  He was asleep when I got there and stayed that way the whole time.  We even tried to wake him and up and couldn’t.  My little heater worked some magic on him I think.  He is a little older than most of my newborns at 16 days or so when I photographed him but he slept and curled up just fine.  He was a chunk too, gotta love baby fat… and on top of the chub he had beautiful skin.  So in the end we had a fantastic, easy session with one adorable little boy.  Thank you Mom and Dad for choosing me to be Baby J’s first photographer.  I had the best time with you guys.

Seriously people… I get to photograph the most beautiful babies.

Posted on August 13, 2008

I think I have the best job in the world.  I get to hold little tiny babies, spend a couple of precious hours devoted just to them, and then as a result they are forever a part of my heart.  I never in a million years thought that would be a side affect of a photography business but it truly is for me.  I feel so connected to these families and children I photograph.  And I think they are the most gorgeous babies around (I sound sort of like a doting grandmother don’t I?)  Well my weekend started out with a dear friend and her brand new baby boy.  He is the family’s third child and third boy.  Yep this amazing mama has 3 boys 4 years old and under.  The two big brothers have such amazing personalities and are so full of energy like most young boys.  They make me tired just watching them.  LOL!  And while getting used to three children is a big adjustment (believe me I remember) I know that she is up for it.  I feel very proud to be their photographer.  They are not only clients, but good friends and getting to capture their growing family has been awesome.  I look forward to watching Baby T grow over the next few years and one day I will be chasing him around along with his two big brothers.  :)

Oh my look at that hair and his big blue eyes.  And I betcha they will stay blue.

Baby Girl #2… Baby K.

Posted on August 10, 2008

This sweet baby girl came to visit me this week.   She was an absolute dream.  I could have photographed her all day.  She reminded me so much of my Ella when she was a baby.  Full head of hair and chunky thighs.  :)  Her Mom and Grandmother came with her and they were awesome.  Up for anything and we had loads of fun talking and swooning over this dolly!  I have so many favorites but I picked a few to share here.  She really let me try out some awesome ideas.  One of which to get her outside under my Willow tree.   Big thanks to Mom for letting me try some new stuff with her sweet baby girl.  I hope you like the end result as much as I do.  I think I may get a few for my wall.  LOL!

A favorite of mine from the day.  I love how her little chin is resting on her hand.
And Mom and baby both are so drop dead gorgeous!

I got lots of smiley pictures but this one is my fave.

And another little smirk.  Safe in Mom’s hands.

Ah and the Willow tree… Another favorite.

Stay tuned Blog readers for more awesome babies.  The week started out with more girl’s than boys but ended up with a weekend of boys.  Four to be exact… two of them being twins.  OH what fun!

Sweet, Tiny Miss S.

Posted on August 6, 2008

I am so excited to share this sweet baby girl with all my readers.  I had the best time with her and her family.  She was so tiny… one of my smaller babies for sure.  I think she was just 6 lbs 14 oz or so at our session.  She was so curly and would just ball herself up on her own.  She had a beautiful head of hair and wonderful smooth even skin.  But the best part… her lips.  OH my!  I must have said 10 times “I love her mouth!”  It was simply put… kissable.  I got to try out some of my ideas with her and most of them worked… YAY!  I want to send a special thank you to my good friend Lisa Russo who referred this wonderful family to me and to mom and dad for driving so far to come and see me.  Here are a few that I grabbed off to edit and share… I have so many more!

See what I mean by curly…

A week of babies…

Posted on August 4, 2008

That is what I have coming up…  I am so excited about it.  I love newborns and having this many in a week really gives me a chance to try some new ideas out.

Yesterday I met my first late July baby.  Mr. C was born on July 22nd so he was 12 days when we met yesterday.  He is adorable, full head of hair, sweet cheeks and the cutest little chin.  He looked like a miniature toddler to me.  :)  He was not super keen on going to sleep for me, but in the end I got him to snooze.  He loved being held by mommy and every time she picked him up he passed out.  Which gave me an opportunity to try some poses with her.   Normally my babies like the bean bag better and once I pass them over to mom or dad they start waking up but not this little guy.  He would just zonk out.  So here are a few sneak peaks of Mr. C.

And if you did you know that newborn photography had some very real job hazards?  Well one is leaving the session and dreaming of having another baby, even when you already have three kids.  The other as you can see below is that sometimes you get pooped on!  LOL!  I have been pooped on before but this little guy got me good!  More like sprayed me.  Mom and Dad were a bit embarrassed but I told them that it was just baby poop and just kept on working.  It was all worth it in the end to get the shot.  Before I left I had mom take a picture… thought it would be funny to share.  :)

Let’s hope I can stay out of the line of fire the rest of the week.
