2006… A year in review.

Posted on December 25, 2006

It is hard to believe that the end of 2006 is closing in on us. It has been such an amazing year for me and for my business. I have seen my business grow and change more than I could have imagined. I am so thankful to all of my wonderful clients. Without you all I would be lost. You have given me a small but meaningful role in your family’s lives. I feel such a connection with you all. You make me appreciate my own family, my wonderful friends, and LIFE in general.

My clients rejuvenate me, expand my mind and just plain bring me joy. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you all. Many of you I have photographed several times and that bond just keeps growing, many of you are new clients that I look forward to working with more in the future, and still as 2007 approaches I know that there are many of you (on the books) that I have not met yet and look forward to spending time with.

So tonight on this Christmas Eve, I sit here wanting to wish you all a personal Happy Holidays but this will have to do. :) I also want to say thank you for sharing your families with me and also for letting me share mine. I am especially thankful for being able to share from the very beginning my sweet Lydia. Although three kids is a huge handful for me I am so blessed to have that little peanut in my life. As I say often, in the insanity of daily life Lydia is my sanity.

So to close I would like to share my Christmas card with you all. It was a fun and stressful experience creating it. But in the end I was super pleased with what I got and I look forward to decorating the walls of our newly finished basement with my kids (another BIG project for the family this year). Thank you to my dear mother for taking the family shot and for my dear father for making funny faces and dancing around in an attempt to get all three of my children to look at him. Oh well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. :) Some of you received on in the mail but for those of you who did not her it is….

Happy Holidays Everyone!

It was a folded card so, it goes in order of front, inside top, inside bottom, and back. I love how the back turned out. The series of images really shows each child’s personalities. Garrett is my smiling, happy child. Full of emotion and not afraid to show it. Ella is my serious, but not too serious sweet girl. She is really 3 going on 16. :) And Lydia is my precious baby girl who is just as calm as can be in the whirlwind we call her siblings.

A little before and after…

Posted on December 16, 2006

This is a maternity/ newborn combo session I did back in September and then the sweet baby boy in November. Such a fun mommy! We had fun together and got some great before and after shots… wanted to share those with you all for sure.

6 month old sweetie

Posted on December 16, 2006

This is Miss “D.” She is 6 months old here and what a cutie pie. I always love to photograph other kids that are the same age as my own and she is only about a week younger than my little Lyddie. She was so much fun and even though she was rather stoic she was so well behaved, even when we took her outside. It was VERY windy and a bit chilly that day but she was such a trooper.

A fresh little boy and a sweet big sister.

Posted on December 13, 2006

This little guy was so cute and so tiny. He was so very well behaved as well. Pretty easy to get to sleep and pretty easy to keep asleep as long as the heater was pointed directly at him. :) His big sis was the only 3 1/2 year old that I have ever met that begged me to take her picture. I mean literally… “Take my picture now. Is it my turn? I want you to take my picture.” That is what I heard the whole session. Too cute! And a welcome change from the begging and bribing that sometimes happens. She was such a cutie and reminded me of Punky Brewster, if any of you remember her. She even sounded like her to me. I told mom I all she needed was some pigtails. ;) Here is a sampling of this most enjoyable family.

Blue Maternity

Posted on December 12, 2006

Here is a small sampling of one of my recent maternity sessions. She is due in Jan. with baby boy #2! I had so much fun with her and her little guy. He was a barrel of laughs as usual! :) I really like how the shots in the blue room came out. The walls gave them a great kick! Thanks little “D” for letting us borrow your room. Looking forward to meeting the new little man after the Holidays.

One of my most favorite families.

Posted on December 11, 2006

I feel so blessed to have met this family. They are truly a joy to know and be around. Their little guy is now 6 months old and this is the second time I have had the pleasure of photographing him. He has grown so much! Our session ended up being a sort of “day in his life” or at least a day in his afternoon. :)

First some lunch…

Then we played…

Then it was naptime!

Catching up.

Posted on December 10, 2006

So since I am so far behind I will start from my latest session and move backwards. This is sweet Miss “R.” She was a doll baby and her parents were awesome to work with. I had such a great time with them and I think this is one of my all time favorite newborn sessions. I truly LOVE newborns. They are challenging and sometimes messy ;) but they are so worth it. There is nothing like capturing those precious moments of the first few weeks. When they are still so squishy and fresh.

I know, I know

Posted on December 7, 2006

I am so behind in posting. I have had so many wonderful Holiday sessions but I have been working every available minute to keep up with proofing, ordering and delivering prints and cards. That means my blog has taken a back seat. I will start sharing again very soon I promise.

I wanted to write an update on my schedule. I have recently (happily) experienced a large increase in my business. I tried my best to not turn anyone away for the Holidays but alas I had to. Just not enough hours in the day for me to take on anyone else. So as a result I began booking 2007. I wanted to remind everyone that if you are interested in booking a session for the Spring please do so ASAP. I have only a couple of slots left in February and March. January is completely filled. I will begin scheduling April in the next few weeks. So please call early!!!
