Miss A

Posted on September 30, 2008

Full of life, smiles and happiness.  This Russian born beauty is simply put… gorgeous.  I have known A for a few years now and watching her grow and mature is super fun.  I told her Mom/ Dad that the connection they had with her was truly special.  When her Daddy looked at her and talked to her her whole face lit up with happiness.  It made my heart smile.  I loved working with her, so beautiful and girly looking, yet she loved rocks and getting dirty.  LOVE that!  Reminds me of myself as a young child.  So I know Mom is waiting on this post.  I have already told her how awesome this session turned out so here is your sneak peek Mom.  So many awesome ones to share with you… soon, very soon.

She is ready for the runway with that walk.  :)

This is one of my faves (although I have many).  Love her reflective eyes and squeezable cheeks.

And with Daddy.

The L family

Posted on September 28, 2008

Last weekend I got to meet up with these two cuties and their mom and dad.  We had a great time together despite the overcast skies.  They were both so full of personality and great expressions.  Such gorgeous children… don’t you agree?

At times she had a very intense look about her.

Full of smiles.

Katie - Class of 2009

Posted on September 25, 2008

Meet Katie… an absolutely drop dead gorgeous girl.  Who is such a natural in front of the camera.  We went to a new location for me, I have been there once and was so excited when I was granted permission from the owners to use it as a regular spot.  They are such gracious hosts too…. letting us come inside and cool off, change clothes and get some water.  It was awesome.  The property has endless possibilities and I think I have only just begun to explore them.   Thank you Jane for allowing me to use your beautiful home and land.

Katie and I had a blast walking around and exploring the beautiful scenery.  We even found a couple of friendly horses to use as props.  The tall grass and setting sun were just gorgeous and Katie was up for any idea I had.  I should have your session finished up for you this week so Katie… can’t wait for you to see the whole show.  But for now here are a few of my faves.

4 months… such a cute age.

Posted on September 24, 2008

This is such a fun age to me and this little guy is one cutie pie!  He is such a strong little man.  Holding up his head and looking all around.  And check out his gorgeous blue eyes and stylin hair.  This is the second time I have photographed him and he is one of my newest Baby Planners so you will be seeing him every four months for the next year.  :)  I just adore his family, they are so laid back, so in love with him, and so fun to photograph.  Thank you M family for asking me to join you on your first year as parents.  I look forward to watching you evolve as parent and watching Baby C grow into a toddler.

What did I tell you… big gorgeous blue eyes.
And look at him holding up his head like a 6 month old.

But sometimes we need a break.

Big smiles for Mommy!

This is one of the things I love about this age… discovering.
I can hear him saying “wow these things are cool!”

Frisbee Golf - 2008

Posted on September 21, 2008

This past Friday was Garrett’s school big fundraiser of the year. Frisbee Golf.  He just loves this game.  He is so excited all week talking about the big day on Friday.  Papa and Nee even got to come to join in on the fun.  Since I have volunteered myself to be school photographer, Yearbook designer and creator and I am heading up the new school website I was there with my camera.  Yes, I know what you guys are thinking, don’t you have enough to do?  And the answer to that is yes, I need to do all this like I need a hole in the head but I believe in the school so much. I cannot tell you how they have changed not only my child but also my own outlook on education. So whatever I can do, whatever talent I have to share I am always the first one to raise my hand.  Anyway, back to Garrett. He had a great day and really enjoyed himself, it is always neat to go and spend time with him at school. He is so comfortable there, like he owns the place. I love that, makes my heart smile.  And at the end he pulled me around to round up all of his best buddies so I could take a picture of him with them. Awww…. that makes this mommy photographer’s heart melt.

Here he is with his team… LOL at the poses.

And here he is in action.  The boy can throw a frisbee let me tell you.

And on a another note, here is Lydia who joined me for the day.  We are training her early on the gadgets.
She gets her love of technology honest because her Daddy (and me to some extent) is a total gadget-aholic.
Yes, folks you are seeing this right, she is successfully navigating my iphone out on the field.
She has a game on there she loves.  She can also work a DVD player, use the phone,
and turn on/off the TV which requires knowing lots of different steps.
She makes her Daddy proud. :)

Rachel - Milton High School - Class of 2009

Posted on September 17, 2008

Meet Rachel.  I had the pleasure of photographing Rachel recently and she is one beautiful girl.  We had the best time together too.  Rachel is a Wisconsin transplant and admitted to me she did miss the snow.  :)  I wondered why the dusting to 1 inch we get here and there did not satisfy her like it does me.  But then when you grow up in Wisconsin you probably are used to bit more than that right?  Rachel and I explored some old areas of Alpharetta and went to some new locations as well.  She is such a natural in front of the camera and her blazing blue eyes are nothing short of amazing.  Thank you Rachel for choosing me as your photographer and I will have your completed session to you very soon.

What did I tell you, amazing right?

Back from Cali!

Posted on September 16, 2008

I am home and I tell you I hit the ground running.  Seems like I have a million things to do this week that do not involve the business, so I am behind a bit.  I wanted to share the little sweetie and her family that I spent 4 days with in California. They were so awesome to hang out with and holding that sweet sleepy baby (which I did a lot) ALMOST makes me want another one… I say almost because I also heard her up at 2 am.  LOL!  But she was adorable and so were her twin big sisters.  I am so happy I got to go.  And hanging out with Ken, talking shop, editing together, shooting together… now that is what I call fun. :)  Anyway, here is Baby B and her family and coming up next will be some more awesome sneak peeks.  A couple of Seniors and a cutie pie 4 month old.

I will remember…

Posted on September 11, 2008

I will always remember where I was this day 7 years ago, what that felt like.  The fear, the disbelief, the shock, the unending sadness for those people. I was scared for my family’s safety, scared the world would never be a safe place to fly in again, scared for my 4 month old son who laid on the floor smiling and cooing at me oblivious to how his world had just changed.  I was in disbelief that a terrorist could have organized that without our knowledge, that that many planes could have been hijacked, that people could be so evil.  I was in shock….  The sadness that struck me took me over for days, I could not  stop watching the TV as countless more victims were missing and assumed dead.  It was a day I will never forget.

Today I leave my house VERY early for the airport.  I struggled with booking this ticket on 9-11 but it just seemed to make the most sense with my schedule out to California.  And then it struck me, what a better way to honor those brave, innocent people that lost their lives this day 7 years ago.  I am not scared to fly, I will not let them overcome me with fear anymore…. because that is what they want.  I will think of those people and their families that day 7 years ago and I will remember their suffering and struggles, but I will not let them make me afraid.  I am proud to be an American.

I hope all of you take a moment today to honor those innocent people and do something to let the terrorist know we are not afraid!

10 weeks

Posted on September 10, 2008

I had the pleasure of meeting this family a couple of weekends ago. They were just delightful and so full of love for their little man.  Not sure I should use the word little since he was anything but. :)  He was quite a big boy for 10 weeks.  He was so peaceful and calm for me.  I don’t think he cried ONE time.  Not even when we woke him up (and that happened several times- he was a light sleeper) trying to reposition him.  I really love the simplicity of this age, they are so sweet and innocent still but so interested in watching you talk to them.  I love to capture just their little faces, the details, the expressions, and of course a quick shot of them sleeping always makes my day. :)

I love this shot… it was not planned and the window just happen to be in the right place.

A new favorite foot shot… love it.

And we ended the session with a nap.

Going out of town, a cute 18 month old and getting caught up.

Posted on September 9, 2008

So a bit of news before we get to today’s client… Thursday I will be leaving town for a few days.  This is a very special trip for several reason.  First because it is my first EVER trip to California.  I am beyond thrilled to visit and experience a little Cali life for a few days, I only wish hubby was coming with me.  :(  And the second reason this is a special trip is because I am going to visit a special photographer friend, Kenneth Deboe  who just welcomed his 3rd baby girl into the world.  We met last year at a workshop and still stay in touch.  I sort of jokingly mentioned how fun it would be to come out and meet his new baby when she arrived and he was like “Come on!”  So after a bit of time working out details I am off on a jet plane this Thursday.  His baby will be 2 weeks old when I arrive so still within a good age to get some really awesome shots.  And I will be living with my subject for 3 days… HOW FUN IS THAT?  I expect many GB of images being downloaded to my computer.  :)

Secondly on the news front… I am like I said before, completely booked till January 2009.  I am overwhelmed with my Holiday response this year.  Thank you to everyone for your interest and support of my business.  I truly feel like I am the luckiest photographer around.  I do have a waiting list started and if you would like to be put on it please let me know ASAP.  If you can be flexible and are open to last minutes scheduling then I might be able to fit you in.  Also just so you know January is filling up as well.  So if you are interesting in a session in 2009 my books are open.

And lastly on the news front… some changes are coming to AGR Photography.  I am finishing up the final touches on a sessions website.  This website will only be for clients that book with me.  It is an information website that will give you all the info you need about your upcoming session and you will be able to fill out your contract online (yeah no more paper) and pay for your session directly from the site. Pretty cool huh?  I have been running this through my head for months and now it is finally going to happen.  I hope to get this launched this Fall but it will be available for 2009 for sure.  I am also launching a brand new Seniors Blog.  Just for my Senior clients.  I am so excited that this new venture in my business has become so successful.  I truly love working with my new group of “kids.”  I have had some lovely Seniors lately and I think they deserve their very own blog don’t you?

Ok, now on to why you really visit my blog, my adorable clients.  This next little one is no exception to that rule. She was precious.  She is 18 months old and very busy, very into exploring.  This age can be challenging because they are so into their world that you as a photographer become very boring to them very quickly.  ;)  But we did manage to find a few things to keep her interest.  Mom busted out in her own version of “Wheels on the Bus” complete with a dance (not sure what that looked like since she was behind me. LOL) and little missy got a case of the giggles.  And along with their sweet daughter they also brought their fur baby.  Bailey was just adorable and I got a few super cute shots of her.  I love it when families want to incorporate their pets, because they are truly part of the family.  So anyway, here are a few of my faves from the session.  Thank you M family for choosing me as your photographer.  I had a great time with all of you.

Isn’t that dress adorable?

And I love how well mom dressed the whole family.  Love mom’s shirt here!
And I think Daddy might have been doing a little song and dance here to get that big smile.  :)

And I had to break out my favorite prop for this age…  the tricycle.
She LOVED it!
