Happy Halloween

Posted on October 31, 2008

Hope everyone had a great Halloween.  We had a fabulous time.  Starting with pumpkin carving, then some pictures with the pumpkins, off to the neighborhood pool for a pizza get together and finally LOTS of trick or treating.  The kids did fantastic.  They all had a ball running like wind from house to house.  Needless to say I think we will be having candy for dessert for a month or two.  :)  I hope I can stay out of it or I will have to start working out EVERY day!  We had beautiful weather and lots of laughs and giggles.  It was a great night!  Now I am off to put everyone to bed.

I took some really quick snaps of them tonight before we left and the pumpkins so I wanted to share.  I hope all my readers had a fantastic night!

Scott got creative and made one pumpkin with the stomach bug.  LOL!

Who switched my 5 year old daughter with a 16 year old girl?  Good lord she looks old.
Then I realized that Lydia was wearing Ella’s size S and Ella was wearing Lydia’s size 2T!  LOL!

Olivia- Class of 2009

Posted on October 29, 2008

Meet Olivia.  She is perfectly beautiful and was a joy to photograph.  We had a beautiful evening shoot a couple of weeks ago and as I proof them I love them even more.  There is nothing more beautiful than evening light.  It is so soft and even.  I think you will agree it made Olivia look even more beautiful.  I had such a blast with her, such a personable young lady.  Very mature and well spoken.  Thank you Olivia for choosing me to capture this special time of Senior year for you.  I am honored!

She was full of beautiful smiles but I love her serious, soulful look.

Right at the end of the session we found a beautiful field.  Such pretty light.

Sweet Sweet Baby C!

Posted on October 28, 2008

Here I go again, mushing about a family I just adore.  But it is true. I adore this family.  Mom and I totally get each other.  I love spending time with her and her sweet little boy T.  And I am overjoyed to say that now I get to have fun with 2 BOYS!  Baby C is the newest addition to the family and oh my he is sweet.  Mom thought he might not sleep for me, but he did.  He was awesome.  I got some awake shots, then a little snack and he was out like a light.  I am also excited as this is not really a sneak peek (since I just sent her the whole gallery) so I get to share a few more.  And even an awesome collage of Baby C.  So won’t you join me in welcoming the newest little boy to this family…

This is a favorite!!!  Love his fuzzy cheek and wrinkles.

Hello bright eyes.

Another fave… love his sweet mouth here.

Nothing sweeter than a close up of baby lashes.

And big brother T was not so into the whole picture thing… but I managed to get a few.

And here is a collage I created of Baby C.

6 months is such a fun age!

Posted on October 27, 2008

This is age is so much fun, sitting but not crawling.  They are all smiles, totally interested in you, and cute as a button.  Little J was no exception.  We met at their house only to decide it might not have the best light so we scooted down the road to a local nature preserve.  It was a beautiful morning and the little guy was in the best spirits.  He never fussed, not one time.  A total joy to work with.  And just to let you know that even though I am bit behind on my sneak peeks I am not on my session slideshows and galleries.  So be looking for your slideshow tomorrow J family.  Thanks so much for choosing me to capture your cutie pie.

Baby C

Posted on October 25, 2008

Baby C was the last baby of my weekend of newborns a couple of weeks ago.  He was a little tough to get to sleep but we got some very cute shots of him none the less.  I was so excited to see the dresser in the front room.  It went perfectly with my bowl.  :)  And C loved sleeping on that oh so soft sheepskin.  He was the first baby to use it as it is new and I am happy to report it needed no washing afterwards.  I had a great time meeting this family who with the addition of C is a family of 5.  I know a little bit of what they are going through and they are in for a fun ride with three.  Enjoy them while not all of them can talk.  LOL!  Then things really get loud.

And this is pretty close to the top of the list of my all time favorite newborn shots.
Look how sweet he is.

Another long time favorite client…

Posted on October 24, 2008

Do you see a theme here?  Lots of my returning clients see me in the Fall and do you pick up that I have a lot of favorites?  :)  Well I do and this little guy is definitely one of them.  He is adorable and was full of smiles for me.  I have been photographing him since he was a tiny little 2 week old and he just keeps getting cuter and cuter.  I adore his mama as well.  She loves this little guy more than life and ALWAYS has him dressed to the nines.  Is that the most adorable tie you have ever seen?  :)  Just take a look for yourself.

Mom stay tuned your session should be done soon!!!

Miss S

Posted on October 23, 2008

One of my very favorite little girls. She is very close in age to my Lydia and I have been photographing her since she was 6 months old.  Still to date that session is top of the list as one of my favorites.  Mainly because it was a realization of my style and the kind of client I wanted to attract.  The F family just gets me… in so many ways.  Some ways I am sure I am not even aware of.  I love going to their house and seeing all the creative ways they display my / their images.  It is really wonderful as an artist to see your work up in your client’s home.  And a bit humbling too.

Miss S was so busy and fun this session… we had cloudy, hazy weather (it even drizzled on us) but we made the best of it in their downtown nieghborhood… which I LOVE!  And I am excited to say that Miss S will be welcoming her new baby brother in a matter of weeks.  CANNOT wait to meet him.  But until then enjoy some of my faves from our session a couple of weeks ago.

I love this one… totally speaks to the weather that day.

And one with the belly.  Love this one too.

And just to let you know I am WAY behind on sneak peeks… trying to keep up.  Bare with me people.  :)

Baby E

Posted on October 22, 2008

Well here it is… the beginning of babies.  A couple of weekends ago I had three newborn sessions.  Some were born early, some were born a little late and this sweet little girl was actually born on her due date.  Such a rare occurrence.  I met her when she was about 10 days old I believe.  She was awake when I got there and so I got to get a few eye open shots and then she had a snack and passed out.  You seriously could not wake up this little girl.  She slept through it all.  My favorite kind of newborn.  :)

This session was also really cool because this little darling’s auntie is a photographer too.  She lives in New York so mom decided to do some research and sent her 5 local photographer’s websites from Atlanta and she chose me.  Wow!  I was flattered to say the least.  Then it turned out she was in town for the shoot so we got sit around and talk shop while baby E was eating.  Such fun.  I love talking shop.  So no pressure right?  With Auntie Photographer watching.  ;)  But Miss E did not disappoint, she was the perfect model for me.

So here ya go L family… your sneak peek of little E.  I will have the rest of your session to you very soon.

In her Mommy’s hands… I LOVE this one.

Such a sweet face.

This one is very special… this is Mom’s doll from when she was a baby.

I would like to introduce you to Anita…

Posted on October 20, 2008

This is Anita.

Anita is my friend.  She has been a part of my life for over 7 years now.  Anita is part of my heart.  We have been through ALOT together, good and bad.  Anita is a blessing to me.  She represents something very special to me.  She represents what real friends should be.  I have a had a lot of friends over the years, some are still in my life, most are not.  I think it was Anita who taught me what a real friend is supposed to be.  She taught me you don’t have to agree.  Not on the small things or the big ones, you just have to be non-judgemental.  She taught me it is ok to not agree, that you can still be friends.  She is an amazing, strong wonderful person.  She is an incredible wife, mother and friend.  I am truly blessed to not only know her but to call her one of my very closest friends.

Anita and I met when our first babies were only a few weeks old.  We both shared this new thing called motherhood.  We were both struggling through it, trying to figure out all of it.  The breastfeeding, the naps, the teething, ect.  We became the best of friends… talking almost everyday.  Along the way we had a conflict… then we lost touch.  One of my great regrets in life.  But we found each other again.  I will never forget hearing that voicemail on my machine, on my birthday.  It was our new beginning.  We once again shared the joys of our second child.  It was a wonderful time in both of our lives.  Then she and her family had to relocate.  I was devastated to lose her but she assured me that we would stay friends.  She was right. We did! Soon after their move they became pregnant with their third baby.  I visited her several times, loving getting to spend whole weekends with her and her precious family.  They are like my own family to me, I couldn’t love them more.  Then on that day in May I got the call from another friend of ours… their was trouble in delivery.  Anita was in a coma and baby Jarrett was in the NICU.  She had had an amniotic embolism.  I was in shock, I had never heard of such a thing.  Why?  How?  This cannot be happening.  Needless to say the next few weeks were horrific.  All I did was wait for answers.  How is the baby? Is she awake?  Will she be ok?  Nobody could tell her family anything until it happened.  They just didn’t know.  I can remember praying to God, please not take her from me and from her babies.  Please don’t take her away from her husband and her parents.  Please let her come back us.  Two weeks into this Baby Jarrett lost his fight… he fought a good, hard fight but in the end there was just too much damage.  We all mourned for him.  Except Anita… she was not awake.  Finally after 6 weeks the call finally came… she was awake.  She called me and left me a message on my voicemail.  And there it was another new beginning for us.  All of this happened during a very difficult time in my life as well.  I had friendships end only to realize that they had never really been my friends but Anita brought me back.  She once again showed me what a real friend was.  Her love and support is always there, no matter what.

Over the past 3 years since this happened and we lost Baby Jarrett I have grieved with her, helped her any way I could and been MORE than thankful that she is here with us.  No doubt this has been the hardest thing she has ever been through but she is a fighter.  I am so proud of her, so proud to be her friend.  She is forever part of my heart.  Which includes her amazing husband, two beautiful girls and one sweet angel boy.

I wanted to share with all of my blog readers my friend…  Anita and her family.  I am happy to say she is living back here in Georgia.  I am beyond thrilled to have her close again.  Our families are very close and I secretly (or not so secretly) hope that her oldest and Garrett get married.  :)

Her husband is truly my hero.  His devotion and strength is nothing short of amazing.

Thank you Anita for letting me capture your family for you.  I enjoyed every minute with you guys and I love you all dearly.

Baby girl #3

Posted on October 16, 2008

This little lady is the third precious daughter to this amazingly wonderful family.  I have been photographing these kids since the oldest was born.  And while you might think that is a long time… think again.  This baby girl joins a 12 month old sister and a 27 month old sister.  Yes you read that right this busy mama has a 2 year old, a one year old and a newborn. Oh my!  And all three of these sweet baby girls are loved and watched over by their big brother who watches them from heaven.  I know Matthew is very proud of his sisters.  This family has been through a lot in the past 4 years but now they have plenty to keep them busy.  I just adore them all.  The girls are sweet and adorable and mom and dad are always super to work with.  I asked them as I was leaving if I would see them again next year for the next newborn shoot?  LOL!  We will see.
