Class of 2010 High School Senior Model Search | Alpharetta High School Senior Photographer

Posted on February 23, 2009

Well it is that time again… I am looking for my representatives for class of 2010.  What do my High School Senior Models get you ask? Well the answer to that is LOTS!  They get a very reduced session fee, their own business cards and discounts galore.  Last year my Seniors worked hard for me and made my first official year of photographing Seniors a huge success.  I am hoping to find the same willing Seniors to help me this year.  I already have a few people who have signed up so space is limited.  Please contact me ASAP if you would like an application to be a Model for AGR Photography.  I would like some guys and some girls so tell all your friends to take a look at my website and see if they are interested.  I am looking for models from Milton, Alpharetta, Cherokee, and Roswell.  So if you are a current year Junior and would like your Senior Pictures to be something unique and all about you, give me a call.

6 month old sweetie | Atlanta Baby Photographer

Posted on February 22, 2009

I had the best shoot yesterday with my good friend and her youngest.  Baby T is the youngest of 3 boys and he is just as adorable as his big brothers.  He was pretty much all smiles and giggles for us, with some drool in there too.    I just love this age, they are so engaged and silly.  They love to explore their surroundings down the smallest detail and most of them are not yet crawling which makes for a much easier session.  :)  Baby T was no exception, he liked me from moment one and was completely amazed by my camera.  He has the biggest, sweetest blue eyes you have ever seen and his hair is to die for!  He has already had a haircut if you can believe that.  Some of you may remember him from his newborn shoot.

This is a fave for me… love his cute expression, yellow chair, striped walls and the image behind him
I took of his mommy while he was still in her belly.  Love!

Home from Vegas!

Posted on February 21, 2009

I got home Thursday night and I think I am still jet lagged but it was all worth it to go to the biggest photography convention in the country.  I met so many of my fellow online photographers and got to hang out and talk shop as long as we wanted.  It was also great to get to attend classes with some of the best photographers in the industry.  It gives you a boost of creativity and motivation that is priceless.  Many, many topics were covered so my head is spinning with new ideas.  Another great part of the convention is Trade Show.  This is where all the vendors that I buy from bring their products, give demonstrations and host other photographers to speak.  It is fun to actually get to put your hands on new products and talk to real people about them.  I think the best part is the relationships I have built at get togethers like these.  The girls below are not only fellow photographers from across the country but I am happy to call them my friends.  From left to right :  Me, Faith Essary from West Texas, Martha Bravo from Miami, Carolyn Jones from Houston, Monique Montoya from Houston, Texas, Heidi Smith from Tampa.

So now that I home it is back to business.  I had a wonderful session today with a super cute 6 month old and tomorrow brings another 6 month old.  So keep your eyes out for some more sneak peeks very soon.  I also have another installment of  “What makes an image work” coming up next week.  So stayed tuned for some fun stuff.

A quick sneak before I leave | Atlanta Newborn Photographer

Posted on February 15, 2009

I promised a quick sneak before I left town for this beautiful baby boy I photographed today.  He was so good to me, sleepy then awake… lovely.  It was a dark day here but their house had plenty of gorgeous light for me.  Enjoy his sweetness and I will be back in a week or so.

He gave me great eye contact… what a sweetie.

And see his little hands?  A little heart for all of you on Love Day!

Leaving on a jet plane…

Posted on February 13, 2009

Yep, that’s right… I am outta here.  Well on Sunday I am.  I am so excited to be going to the largest professional photographic convention and trade show in the country, WPPI!  That stands for Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.  It is held in Las Vegas which I am so excited about.  This will not only be my first trip to WPPI but also my first trip to Vegas.  There will be 130 different programs, speakers, parties and over 300 vendors.  Needless to say I think I will not only busy but I might have a brain overload with so much information.  :)  I truly believe that as a photographer you must continually grow and develop yourself and going to workshops and conventions such as this helps us do just that.  Not to mention I get to see tons of new products that I can share with all of you, my clients!

So if you are waiting on orders please know that I will get those to you in about a week when I return.  I will be answering emails while I am gone but only a few times a day.  I won’t have my computer with me, only my iphone.  So I will see ya on the flip side!  Vegas here I come!

Kyle - Class of 2009 | Milton High School Senior Photographer

Posted on February 12, 2009

Last weekend was just beautiful.  I was thrilled to get to photograph my first Senior since the Fall on such a gorgeous day.  Kyle was so fun, different and great to hang out with.  He is a very interesting person with some great stories to tell, even at the young age of 17 (or are you 18 :) ).  One of which is that he is a Hockey Player for Milton.  My family are big Hockey fans… actually it is the only sport we watch.  (Hubby is Canadian)  My 7 year old LOVES Hockey so when I told him I photographed a Hockey Player his eyes got as big as saucers and he said “REALLY?”  Too funny.  Kyle has been playing for years and it truly is part of who he is.  You can tell by the way he talks about it.  Kyle and his mom also had some request, which I always enjoy, so I stepped out of the box that I am normally in to do some edgy… more personal shots.  In the end, I am thrilled with the results.  Different for me, but SO Kyle.  Check out a few faves below.

His request… he calls them his babies. :)

We started out at Milton High School and there was a long line of school buses.
How could I NOT use them?

I am also starting my search for my Class of 2010 Reps.  I will posting a full post about it but if you know a rising Senior who loves deals and unique photography send them my way.

My Tiny Riders

Posted on February 9, 2009

If you know me well you know that I rode horses for over 20 years.  I lived and breathed horses… I loved everything about them.  Then one day it all changed, the day I had Garrett.  I ended up selling my horse unexpectedly soon after he was born, but I do believe still 7 1/2 years later it was the right thing to do.  I knew one day horses would be a part of my life again but at that moment it was not in the cards.  Well the day has returned.  Not one but both of my girlies love horses.  The little one especially.  She lives and breaths them just as I once did and even though she is only 2 I knew that I had to find a barn that would let her ride too.  Ironically, the barn I found is the same barn where I kept my horse.  The same barn that ended that chapter of my life is where my daughters will begin their horse careers.  I have to admit it is weird to be back there but fun at the same time.  Enjoying this with both of them has been a real joy.  So I know in the past I have blogged a bit about Ella riding but now that we have found this very wonderful barn and Lydia has started as well I thought another horsey post was in order.  Last Friday was just gorgeous here to I took my camera to the barn to capture not one, but two tiny riders.

Way to go girl, that a way to get those heels down.

Ella loves to paint their hooves.

I love how tiny she looks here and how determined she is.  This is her jumping position.

I was so excited when I was asked to be a guest speaker on the MCP Actions blog by the very talented Jodi Friedman.  She is a master Photoshop wizard.  :)  She asked me if I would do a series of blog posts about photographing Newborns… and you all know how much I love those tiny people.  So I of course agreed.  The series started today so go and check it out…

A new look for AGR Photography

Posted on February 1, 2009

I am proud to share with you my new website.  I have been working on it off and on for a few months now and finally it is live!  It has been a fun to work on and go through all my recent images.  Some of you may reconige my adorable models on there.  I love this site because the site itself and the images adjust to your monitor size so I can use bigger images to showcase my work.  I am also able to group my galleries.  My goal with this was to focus a bit more on my newborns since I do a lot of newborns and would love to do even more.  I also have a “growing” gallery for all of my older babies, kids and relationship shots.  Still another gallery is for my High School Seniors.  And of course there is plenty of good information on session details, what to wear, and pricing.  Simply click on Home in the navigation bar above or click the image below to see the new site.  Now go grab a glass of wine and enjoy.  :)
